Miracle "the Dog that refused to die"

Miracle — The Heart Behind Everything We Do

Miracle is not just a dog.

He is family, a best friend, a survivor, and the heart behind everything Amanda has achieved over the last decade.

His story began in unimaginable circumstances.

As a young dog in Thailand, Miracle was rescued from the illegal dog meat trade while being transported across the border to Laos alongside around 1,000 other terrified dogs.

Against all odds, he survived.

Nobody could have known then just how many lives he would go on to touch.

When Miracle arrived in Scotland and joined our family in the Highlands, he quickly became the centre of our world.

From the very beginning there was something special about him. His gentle nature, incredible resilience and capacity for love captured our hearts completely.

The bond between Amanda and Miracle is difficult to put into words. It is built on trust, loyalty and a deep understanding that goes far beyond anything spoken.

Through life’s highs and lows, they have rarely been apart.

Even now, at around 14 years old, Miracle never strays far from Amanda’s side.

Whether they are out and about or simply relaxing at home, he is happiest curled up beside her on the sofa, watching the world go by together.

Miracle’s journey inspired Amanda to write her first book, Miracle: The Dog That Refused to Die, published by Random House in 2015. His remarkable story led to television appearances, radio interviews, magazine features and newspaper articles, helping raise awareness of the cruelty of the dog meat trade and the importance of animal welfare.

Together with our son Kyle, Amanda and Miracle were honoured with the Friends for Life Award at Crufts, recognising the extraordinary relationship they share. They later won the Daily Mirror Animal Hero Award and campaigned in Parliament to help bring an end to the dog meat trade, becoming powerful voices for animals who cannot speak for themselves.

In 2020, when the world seemed to stand still during the pandemic, Amanda and Miracle took their message to an even bigger audience through Britain’s Got Talent, reaching the semi-finals with their unique magic act. Every performance was about more than entertainment; it was an opportunity to tell Miracle’s story and shine a light on the suffering of countless dogs still caught in the dog meat trade.

Today, Miracle is older but still full of life, character and charm. Instantly recognisable in his famous bow-tie collar,

he continues to bring joy wherever he goes. He remains Kyle’s best friend, Amanda’s shadow, and the soul of our family.

More than anything, Miracle reminds us every day of the power of hope, second chances and unconditional love.

A dog once destined for a tragic end became a symbol of compassion, courage and survival.

His story changed our lives forever, and we cannot imagine our world without him. ❤️🐾
